Cboe Global Markets, Inc. has completed the switch to their own technology for Cboe Australia.
In 2021, Cboe bought Chi-X Australia and renamed it Cboe Australia. In February 2022, the new company completed its technology migration.
Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer, Cboe Global Markets, Chris Isaacson, said:
This required migrating Chi-X’s platform to Cboe technology, enabling Australian customers to benefit from our world-class innovations and seamlessly accessing Cboe’s diverse markets, asset classes, data and product suite with greater ease and efficiency.
Vic Jokovic, Cboe Australia’s Chief Executive Officer, highlighted the hard work that went into transferring Chi-X’s technology platform and hinted at future growth in the Australian market.
This process will be done in two stages:
- The first stage, allows brokers to access the BIDS pool with their own trading algorithms or directed orders.
- The second stage is planned to take place in a few months, and it will give buy-side access to BIDS Trader, which is supported by brokers.
