TP ICAP Group, a London-based broker, has announced that its platform for dealing with cryptocurrency, Fusion Digital Assets, is now active.

The cryptocurrency exchange has successfully made its first XBTUSD pairing trade.

Fusion Digital Assets was created mainly for institutional investors. It has a structure similar to regular financial markets, not like crypto asset markets. Different companies provide different services, such as executing trades, keeping assets secure, and completing deals.

TP ICAP recently combined its Fusion electronic platform and Fidelity Digital Assets’ custodial services to form a new exchange. This platform uses TP ICAP’s order matching and trade execution technology, and its global client base provides many sources of liquidity.

TP ICAP, a financial trading firm, has launched Fusion Digital, a cryptocurrency exchange. At this time, customers can purchase Bitcoin and Ether (a form of cryptocurrency) against the US dollar. The company plans to add more assets to its offerings in the future.

In order to make the launch successful, TP ICAP collaborated with a few companies such as Fidelity Digital Assets, Flow Traders, XBTO Global, and DLT Finance.

The first transaction on Fusion Digital was handled by Fidelity Digital Assets. TP ICAP also plans to implement a multi-custody model in its future expansion efforts.

Global Co-Head of Digital Assets at ICAP Group, Simon Forster, said:

The venue provides the fundamental operational structure and governing principles that clients recognise and expect, but which have been largely missing from the market until now. Combining independent and segregated custody with an FCA-registered cryptoasset exchange helps to shape the future of cryptoasset market infrastructure.

Head of European Business Development, Fidelity Digital Assets℠ Europe, Manuel Nordeste, said:

Today is a further milestone in our collaboration with TP ICAP and the evolution of the digital assets ecosystem to enable even more participation from institutional investors. Our collective goal is to enable investors to navigate this nascent asset class, execute trades, and custody their assets with confidence.
