Hiroaki Nagakura joins 26 Degrees as Head of Prime Services Japan

Australian institutional broker 26 Degrees has appointed Hiroaki Nagakura, an experienced industry professional from Japan, as the new Head of Prime Services – Japan. Nagakura will begin his role immediately.

Hiroaki Nagakura has joined 26 Degrees, previously called Invast Global. He has worked in the foreign exchange (FX) industry for over 30 years, with 15 of those years in senior executive roles. Previously, Hiroaki served as the Managing Executive Officer at Rakuten Securities Inc., which is one of the largest online brokerages in Japan.

During his 12 years at Rakuten, Hiroaki established the company’s FX business unit and successfully grew its revenue to over 100 million USD (14.6 billion JPY) in 2022.

Hiroaki previously held the position of Managing Director at Rakuten Securities Australia, which was recently bought by ATFX. He also served as a Director at Rakuten Securities Hong Kong and played a key role in acquiring FXCM Japan and Hong Kong in 2015.

Before that, Hiroaki worked as a Director at Central Tanshi FX Co., Ltd. for ten years and gained experience as a trader in foreign exchange and contract for difference at different interbank FX Brokers.
