Barclays Appoints Yamada as Japan Tech Investment Bank Head

Barclays announced that Akihiko Yamada has been hired as a Managing Director and Head of Technology, Media and Telecom (TMT), Investment Banking for Japan. He will start his new role on 1 July 2023.

Mr. Yamada is a well-known and experienced banker with over 17 years of experience in the technology, media and telecommunications industry. He is highly skilled in organizing and executing difficult mergers and acquisitions, as well as providing equity and debt financing. He works in Tokyo and is supervised by the Head of Investment Banking, Japan and Vice Chairman of Barclays Securities Japan, Yuhiko Yano.

Mr. Yamada has joined us from Bank of America, having spent 15 years there in tech investment banking. Before that, he worked at Goldman Sachs, and the Ministry of Economy, Trade & Industry in Japan.
