LSEG hires Irfan Hussain as CIO

London Stock Exchange Group plc (LSEG) has announced that Irfan Hussain will be joining the company as its new Chief Information Officer (CIO).

Mr. Hussain will begin working in New York in January 2024. He will be a part of the Executive Committee and will report to David Schwimmer, who is the CEO of LSEG.

As the leader of LSEG’s technology team, Mr. Hussain will focus on creating advanced and groundbreaking ideas for the worldwide financial markets. He is currently a Partner and holds the position of Chief Operating & Strategy Officer for Engineering at Goldman Sachs.

He has worked in different positions at the company, such as Chief Information Officer (CIO) for the Consumer and Wealth Management department, as well as roles in the Global Banking and Markets and Asset and Wealth Management divisions in New York, Tokyo, and Hong Kong.

Tony McCarthy has had an accomplished career at LSEG and started as the CIO for the Group’s Post Trade business. He was later promoted to Group CIO in January 2020. He will be retiring in early 2024.
